Ray and Wilson in the Peerless Motor Car business

Or "Never Trust Lawyers"

Deborah says, "This is what I copied down from Ray Frost some time in the mid to late 1980's, one of the last times I saw Ray & Sissy. I don't remember exactly what I asked him - probably something about his growing up & the following is what he said. Ray was a person of few words & I didn't ask too many questions about his story. What I don't know is the time frame of this narrative & it may not be in chronological order. There are probably other people (Evelyn) who can fill in some of the details. All the questions one wished they had asked their elders!"

Grandpa [W.H. Frost] sold the business to Niagara Light & Power before he died. He wanted all his kids & sons in law to work for him. Ray & George had a grocery store in Warren. He [Ray was referring to his father, I think] co-signed with Uncle Wilson for a [Peerless] garage, but it went bankrupt & at that point Ray was out of money. [I'm not sure if the garage or the car company went bankrupt.] Keller [he didn't say which one, but they were all Fred] was sent to Warren to check on a lease option for Grandpa. Keller took the word of the lawyers that the lease had been renewed, but the lawyer had renewed the lease is his own name. That lease would have supported the family "forever".
