 | Hiram Abial Frost home in Brockway, Pennsylvania There are two inscriptions on the reverse. One, probably by Eola, is written directly on the mat board on which the photo is mounted. The other, by Jean Vitt Winograd, is on a label glued to the mat. The first reads, "Home of Hiram Frost. Brockway, Pa. Built by himself. Rebuilt over later by E. G. Frost who bought it from the Heirs." The one in Jean Vitt's hand reads, "It was a real split-level as you had to go upstairs to go out the back door. Downstairs (as I remember it) was only one room - the kitchen with a big wood stove, the front porch was closed in to make another room later. Upstairs were four small rooms & a hall. Bryant Lane, Brockway Pa." |
